My story
I'm Kelsey — the therapist who started Wayward Therapy Collective, and the person who still can't quite pick a lane between clinical training and a genuinely witchy sensibility. Both are welcome here.
I have my own history with high-control religion and my own deconstruction. I know what it costs to leave, and what it takes to build a self back afterward with no script to follow. That's not a footnote to my training — it shapes how I actually show up in the room.
I built Wayward because the people I work with don't need a gentler version of the systems they left. They need somewhere genuinely on their side while they figure out who they are without them. That's the whole point of "wonderfully unconventional" — not an aesthetic, a promise.
My approach
EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and Relationally Focused Psychodynamic Therapy — whichever combination actually fits you, not a fixed protocol. My specialty is religious trauma: faith deconstruction, spiritual abuse, purity culture, and the specific weight of leaving Mormonism, given how many of us in Arizona carry that story.
