GETTING STARTED
-
Book a free 15-minute consult — it's built for exactly this. No pressure to continue if it doesn't feel right.
-
Not currently. I'm working with women and gender-nonconforming adults right now. Wayward Therapy Collective will expand to additional populations as the practice grows — join the waitlist to be notified.
-
Therapy is intended to be confidential, so you’ll want to find a private space where you feel comfortable. You’ll also need stable internet connection or reliable cell service, and a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera.
You’ll receive an email reminder with the video link before each session and our HIPAA-compliant portal includes an app for your convenience.
-
Yes — by law, you must be physically located in Washington or Arizona at the time of each session, even if you're only visiting or traveling.
SESSIONS & LOGISTICS
-
Standard sessions are 50 minutes. Typically, most clients begin on a weekly basis to grow a solid therapeutic relationship and build momentum, then we can adjust frequency together as your needs change.
-
We require at least 72 hours’ notice to avoid a late-cancellation fee. However, if we’re able to reschedule your original session within the same week, this fee is waived. If you have an emergency or illness, this fee may also be waived on a case-by-case basis.
-
We don’t use a fixed timeline or cookie-cutter therapy model, so it depends on your needs and goals. Some clients come for a season around a specific transition; others stay longer for deeper trauma work. We'll check in regularly to discuss what’s working.
-
Yes, with the standard legal exceptions therapists are required to follow (risk of serious harm to yourself or others, or abuse of a child or vulnerable adult). We'll also review this in your intake session.
PAYMENT
-
No — Wayward Therapy Collective is private-pay only. A superbill (i.e. sort of like a receipt of services) will be automatically sent to you at the end of each month for any out-of-network benefits that may be included in your insurance plan. See the full Fees page for our Equitable Payment Structure.
-
We accept major credit cards and HSA/FSA, if available to you. Since are solely online, we do not take cash or check payments. If there’s a specific payment method not listed here, you can ask this in your consultation.
IF YOU’RE IN CRISIS
This practice does not provide emergency or crisis care.
If you're in crisis or experiencing a mental health emergency, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room. Email and client portal messages are not monitored in real time and are not appropriate for urgent situations.
